Fire Keeper
Duties Include:
-
Move wood bundles as needed
-
Set up the wood and kindling
-
Start and monitor the communal fires
-
Protect fires and advise attendees of fire etiquette
-
Enforce fire safety rules
-
Put out fires when no longer needed
-
Remain sober for your fire keeping shift
Registration / Welcome
Duties Include:
-
Greet arrivals
-
Assist with filling out registration forms
-
Collect payment when required, keep cash box secure
-
Hand out programs/schedules/maps
-
Direct people to their campsites
-
Have people acknowledge the Code of Conduct
-
Schedule to ensure coverage of Registration desk during
-
3 pm - 9 pm Friday ; 8 am - 7 pm Saturday ; 8 am - 2 pm Sunday
Communal Feast Maestro
Duties Include:
-
Set up tables for the feast on Friday night
-
Put out plates, cutlery, napkins
-
Hang lights and lanterns
-
Provide and assist with ingredient / info cards for contributors
-
Help tidy at end of evening
Workshop Set up
Duties Include:
-
Help set up the 10x20 workshop tents on Friday
-
Help break down the workshop tents on Sunday
-
Put up and take down tent walls as needed
-
Set up/tear down easels
Kids Programming
Duties Include:
-
Work with Kids Program co-ordinator to come up with activities for children aged 4 - 15 during Polywood weekend
-
Budget for and acquire supplies for chosen activities (will be reimbursed)
-
Run children’s programming during the weekend
-
Good opportunity to earn hours towards volunteer requirements
Security team
Duties Include:
-
Patrol the main Polywood event area during the weekend
-
Watch for people without wrist bands in the main event area
-
Listen to any safety concerns of attendees and bring them to the attention of event organizers
-
Potentially make security related announcements
Cuddle Butlers
Duties Include:
-
Help running cuddle party including enforcing rules and code of conduct
-
Ensure rules are read by late arrivals
-
Offer food and supplies to attendees
-
Help set up cuddle space
-
Help tear down cuddle space
Gods/goddesses of the gaps
Duties Include:
-
Be available to assist with attendee campsite set up (help peg tents, set up tarps, etc)
-
Various other tasks that may come up
